Thermal battery, also called thermal activated reserve battery, is also called molten salt battery, heat activated reserve battery. The electrolyte is a non-conductive solid when stored. When used, the electric ignition head or pin mechanism ignites the internal heating agent, which makes the electrolyte melt into an ionic conductor and is activated as a reserve battery. It is a primary reserve battery which uses molten salt as electrolyte and ignites heat source to melt and activate electrolyte. Thermal batteries include: magnesium / vanadium pentoxide Thermal battery, calcium / lead sulfate thermal battery, LAN sulfide thermal battery, lithium alloy iron sulfide thermal battery.
